Year 5 have been learning all about Space this term. In our art project we have connected with the exciting work of Peter Thorpe, explored different paint techniques, designed our own rockets and created fantastic space paintings!
Connecting
We started by connecting with the illustrator and designer Peter Thorpe, who created a series of exciting and expressive Rocket paintings.
Exploring
The children explored and experimented with different techniques of applying paint to the paper.
Designing
They then invented their own rocket shapes and carefully designed the layout of their paintings.
Creating
Flicking the paint to create an exciting background!
Using different brush techniques to apply the paint to the paper.
